Programs
We are excited to announce another year of our Summer Recreational Program This program offers children an opportunity to play, socialize, and be active with their like-aged peers. The program does expect children to be independent and interested in a social experience. This year we have the ability to offer a morning or afternoon program with access to the school’s outdoor spaces and indoor space. A $50.00 registration fee is required for each student interested in participating in the summer program.
Our pre-registration process allows us to optimize the program experience and ensure safety for those in attendance. Pre-registration will begin on May 1, 2024 and close on May 24, 2024. Our pre-registration timeline has changed in order to guarantee proper staffing and support for all children. All students must pre-register for one elementary school lcation.
Dates: The Summer Recreational Program is available to children who are in grades K-5 during the 2023-24 school year and who live in Penn, West Manheim, or Manheim Townships.
Monday through Thursday, June 10 through July 25, 2024 (closed Thursday, July 4, 2024)
Manheim Elementary: (morning session) 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Baresville Elementary: (morning session) 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Park Hills Elementary: (afternoon session) 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
West Manheim Elementary: (afternoon session) 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Clothing: Children in the Summer Recreational Program will have many opportunities to be active both inside and outside. Please send children wearing appropriate clothing, appropriate footwear (please, no flip-flops), and sunscreen.
Water only: Please send your children with a water bottle each day filled with water. This is both to ensure children stay appropriately hydrated. Children will have the use of school restrooms and water bottle filling stations.
Program Expectations: Children attending the Summer Recreational Program are required to follow the elementary STAR Expectations (Strive to do your best, Take responsibility for your actions, Always be safe, and Respect people and property). Communications will be shared with parents/guardians if concerns related to the expectations develop. The staff may require a day(s) suspension from the program or removal from the program based upon repeated and/or the nature of program violations.
If you have any questions regarding the Summer Recreational Program, please reach out to us. We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer experience with your child!
